We are using scale GLAS GOW COMA daily during our clinical practise to assess LOC. Scores of the scale include
pre-hospitalcare.co.uk |
- eye response-4
- motor response-6
- verbal response-5
- total -15.
maximum score -15
minimum score-3.
Ok.if we can not assess eye response in a client, who is unable to open his eyes, due to some injury or some nerve damage.,how will we score that..
We can score it as E=1c [means"eyes are closed"].
Similarly,if the patient is on an endotracheal tube,we cannot assess the verbal response.Then it is scored as.
V=1t[means"intubated"]
Try this?
If GCS =4tc,what do u understand?
It means. eye response=1c.
motor response=2,
verbal response =1t .
total score=4 .
Hope u got it...thank you very much
